I bought this beautiful antique curly oak wardrobe in August. It's very like one my father had. His parents were antique dealers before they emigrated to Australia in 1952. My father died a horrible and very sad death on the other side of the world away from nearly everyone he loved and who loved him. This wardrobe sits on our lounge room and I sit next to it working most days. It gives me comfort and warmth. The other day my husband asked me when I was going to use the wardrobe. I said I was as it gave me a warm glow and added a great feeling to our living area.
Today I washed down the dust inside and put some clothes inside, just to see how it felt. It's closed again now and just stands there feeling good and looking strong. My father used to have a grandfather clock in his houses, no doubt for exactly the same reason.
